15 Quotes From Feminist Leaders for 2025

With the election over, and many people feeling disheartened and concerned about the future, Feminist.com is more committed than ever to working toward change, including advancing gender and racial equality, political parity, and a day where we will finally break the glass ceiling and elect a woman president. We will continue to use our platform to address the many important issues and rights that may be under threat in the months to come.

Feminist.com founder Marianne Schnall recently shared a selection of timely, insightful quotes from her recent interviews in a piece for Ms. Magazine. They speak to the importance of staying engaged on all the issues we care about as we imagine the future we want. Read it here: 2025 and Beyond: 15 Feminist Thought Leaders on Building a Better Future.

Election Series and Podcast

As a prelude to the 2024 election, we were pleased to partner on a special What Will It Take 2024 Election platform, which was inspired by Marianne’s book What Will It Take to Make a Woman President?. The platform ran a series of articles, uplifted valuable stories, crucial resources, and conversations about the possibility of electing our first woman president, the issues at stake in the election and beyond, and paving the way for more women and diversity in leadership.

Additionally, the ShiftMakers podcast special election series featured Marianne’s new conversations with thought leaders on key issues connected to the election, as well as timely archival interviews from her book.

Protecting Reproductive Rights

Roe v. Wade protest

The threat to reproductive freedom in our country will be more pronounced than ever in 2025. Feminist.com will continue to protect our fundamental constitutional rights and fight for all people who are affected by the Dobbs decision, abortion restrictions, and/or any future decisions that strip them of their bodily autonomy.

Codify the ERA

Suffragists drafted the Equal Rights Amendment nearly 102 years ago, and it’s still not part of the U.S. Constitution. Before President Biden leaves office, advocates are pressuring him to sign the ERA into law.

We Are Linked Not Ranked Bracelets – 2024 Highlights

Thank you to everyone who participated in celebrating Gloria Steinem’s 90th birthday and the We Are Linked Not Ranked bracelet earlier this year on March 25! Many people purchased bracelets and several high-profile individuals posted images of themselves wearing the bracelet, spreading its message of unity and/or sharing special messages to Gloria, including actress Brooke Shields, actress and activist Sophia Bush, actress and comedian Amy Schumer, activist/author/entrepreneur Maya Penn, and actress/filmmaker Carmen Gloria Peréz.

To further celebrate, Marianne Schnall published an article at ForbesWomen, sharing wisdom from her interviews with Gloria over the years and highlighting her key accomplishments and timeless messages.

'We’re Meant To Be Active And Contribute To The World’: Celebrating Gloria Steinem On Her 90th Birthday shares Gloria’s message of equality and interconnection that inspired the bracelets: “We’re on the cusp of something big, something that says we’re a circle, and not hierarchical. It’s the paradigm that was the paradigm of societies for most of human history, and still is of some, and that is the circle not the pyramid—that we are literally linked in a circle, including with nature, as well as with other human beings.”

In April, after attending a special Dr. Jane Goodall event in New York celebrating the renowned primatologist’s 90th birthday, Marianne had the honor of meeting with Jane and presenting her with a We Are Linked Not Ranked bracelet as a birthday gift.

In October, Marianne moderated a panel at the Woodstock Film Festival at the world premiere of Beyond the Gaze. She gave three of the supermodels who appear in the documentary—Tyra Banks (pictured), Stacey Williams (pictured) and Carol Alt—the We Are Linked Not Ranked bracelets, and they immediately started modeling them!

For more about celebrities who have worn the bracelet and other press, visit the In the News section of the We Are Linked Not Ranked website.

"Viewing the world as linked, not ranked is profoundly different from viewing it in a hierarchical way."
